The problem this site solves
When AI started exploding, I felt exactly what most people feel: overwhelmed. Every week brought a new model claiming to be the best. ChatGPT, then Claude, then Gemini, Mistral, Grok, Llama — and dozens of specialized tools on top of those. Image generators, video creators, code assistants, research tools. The list never stopped growing.
I spent hours reading comparison articles, watching YouTube reviews, and scrolling Reddit threads — and still couldn't get a simple answer: which one should I actually use for X? Most comparisons were either paid promotions, outdated by the time I found them, or so generic they were useless for any specific task.
So I built this. One tool, one question, one straight answer. Pick what you need to do, get the recommendation that fits — backed by public benchmark data, not by whoever paid the most to be featured.
How recommendations are made
Every recommendation on this site is based on publicly available data: benchmark scores (MMLU, HumanEval, and others), pricing information, context window sizes, and independent user testing. No AI company pays to appear here. No tool gets a better placement because of a sponsorship deal.
The AI landscape moves fast — models update, prices change, new tools emerge. We aim to review and update recommendations at least monthly to make sure what you're reading reflects the current reality, not what was true six months ago.
Who built this
I'm Tiago, a digital marketing professional with 15+ years of experience across copywriting, CRM strategy, and marketing automation. Over the last few years I've been deep in the AI tools ecosystem — not as a tech enthusiast, but as a practitioner who needed these tools to actually work for real projects.
I built whichaiisbetter.com because I wanted the resource I wish had existed when I started navigating this space. If it saves you even one hour of comparing tools you didn't need to compare, it did its job.
